From the reviews that I have seen, the shearling used in Birkenstock footbeds doesn’t hold up well (literally wears away in a matter of weeks/months), and the dyed shearling colors also leave stains on people’s socks and feet. I wanted shearling Bostons last winter and after looking up the reviews, I decided to go with regular softbed instead.
